    Faith E. Gay and her wife, Francesca Zambello, founded Dooalot, LLC, with a vision to support endeavors—like the Bank Lofts— that aim to improve the lives of the people who live, work, and play in the communities they love. An internationally respected trial lawyer, Faith is a founding partner of Selendy, Gay, Elsberg—one of the country’s top litigation firms. In 2019, inspired by her lifelong commitment to justice and equality, Faith added a surprising new page to her life story, earning her Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School. During Covid, she was called upon to serve as substitute pastor at Cooperstown’s historic First Presbyterian Church, a congregation known for its community spirit.

    Francesca Zambello’s bold creative vision has brought energy and excitement to the world’s most famous opera and theater stages—including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Washington National Opera, and Cooperstown’s own Glimmerglass Festival, where she served as artistic and general director from 2010 to 2022. As partners in Dooalot, LLC, Francesca and her wife, Faith E. Gay, have set the stage for the Bank Lofts, a dramatic revitalization project they hope will bring a fresh wave of prosperity to historic Richfield Springs. “Faith and I are thrilled to be joined in this endeavor by a team that shares our commitment to community-based living,” says Francesca.

    Juhee Lee-Hartford is founding principal and managing partner of River Architects—an award-winning practice committed to projects that serve people and our planet. The firm’s diverse portfolio includes private residences, public works, and commercial and multifamily projects designed to rigorous Phius standards. RA also serves as a strategic advisor to communities throughout New York, as part of the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Its Bank Lofts retrofit plan is a winner of NYSERDA’s Buildings of Excellence competition (Round 3, early stage design component) and earned generous support as part of the state’s Carbon Neutral Community Economic Development program.

    Josh Edmonds is principal of Simple Integrity, LLC, an Otsego County–based firm at the forefront of high-performance construction and renovation. A Certified Passive House Consultant and Builder, the Cooperstown, NY–native leads a full-time team of artisans with extensive experience in passive building and renovation projects. As a partner with Francesca Zambello in ZAED Properties, LLC, Josh successfully collaborated with River Architects, PLLC, to create Chestnut Crossing, a Phius-certified, multifamily property designed to blend seamlessly into the Village of Cooperstown’s historic streetscape.

Administered by NYSERDA in partnership with Empire State Development and the New York Department of State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative, the program is dedicated to accelerating climate-friendly development that supports the diverse cultural heritage and robust economic vitality of communities throughout New York State.
